The difference between who we are and what we do is an on-going topic of contemplation, conversation, and wonder. In my current state of mind, I believe myself to be a curious polyglot that is forever seeking to understand, expand and utilize my notions about art, design, aesthetics, innovation, relevance, culture, audiences, engagement, emotion, learning, media, technology, accessibility, ... In more concrete terms, I am an exhibition and lighting manager and designer trained in architecture, passionate about the arts and about languages. I currently am the Chief of Design at the National Gallery of Canada. I hold a Masters of Architecture from McGill University in Montreal, and I started my career as an educator and then as an exhibition designer at the Canadian Centre sArchitecture in Montreal. I have practiced as both an architecture and as a lighting designer in Montreal, Paris and New York. Prior to joining the National Gallery of Canada to lead the Design department, I worked as an exhibition designer, across all collections and departments, at the Art Institute of Chicago.
