This website is the presentation of the artwork of Carl Peverall. It focuses primarily on his raku ceramic sculpture and vessels and his painting in pastel and oil. A statement of influences such as Antoni Gaudi, Isamu Noguchi and quantum physics is made. An example of the result of balancing time between two media-ceramics and painting can be seen. Plein air work in pastel is the basis for Carl Peverall's two dimensional imagery, while Carl uses the potter's wheel to make the initial clay forms onto which his contemporary symbolic language is incised.

The studio, founded in 1995, manufactures contemporary and unique furniture, sculptural furniture objects and design accessories. Apart from wood GERSTENBERGER also uses metal, clay and textiles in the design process. GERSTENBERGER makes furniture and objects for individualists, who consciously withdraw themselves from the Zeitgeist and demonstrate this mindset by surrounding themselves with representative objects.

Much of my work is site specific, often referencing architecture and/or geology/geological formations. My contrasting inspirations come from the Earthworks and Light & Space art movements.
