The Social Welfare Directorate under the Department is the nodal agency for implementing the schemes of the State Government and various schemes of the Government of India’s Ministry of Women and Child Development. Apart from this, social justice and empowerment schemes run by nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) for the welfare of disabled and destitute women, aged and children are supported by the Directorate.
