2017 SCSoccer.com Super XXII​Wando's Samantha Meredith and Cardinal Newman's Wyatt Millard have been selected as the 2017 SCSoccer.com Super XXII Players of the Year.Meredith, a rising junior who has committed to the University of South Carolina, led Coach Shannon Champ's Warriors to the inaugural Class 5A State Championship match and a 20-3 record. The six-foot forward tallied 40 goals this season, including seven during Wando's postseason run to the Finals.Millard, a graduated senior who has already enrolled at the United States Naval Academy where he signed to play collegiate soccer, guided Cardinal Newman to an 18-1-1 mark and Class 3A State Championship as members of the South Carolina Independent School Association. OVERLAND PARK, KS. (Feb. 22, 2017) – 21 teams where crowned as National Champions at the 2017 U.S. Youth Futsal National Championships. The tournament was held February 17 - 20, 2017 at the New Century Fieldhouse and Roeland Park Sports Dome. 147 highly competitive teams faught for the national titles but there could only be one champion in each of the 21 divisions. The ages range from U9 - U19 (Boys and Girls).Over 19 States and 2 Countres represented. Teams from the Great Lakes and the Midwest Region were the big winners.Each year, the level of competition has been getting stronger. Better footskils, better ball movement and more excitement. We are seeing more Futsal Academy teams as well.The tournament which is in it's 11th year is the largest National Youth Futsal Tournament affiliated with US Soccer. The tournament was officiated by 70 US Soccer Futsal Certified Referees. The referees are under the leadership of Ed Marco, who serves as the FIFA Futsal Instructor and U.S. Youth Futsal Referee Coordinator and Trainer. My intention was to create a totally minimalistic gaming experience that could make your toilet sitting more fun and even train the cognitive brain abilities a bit. You can play the game concept here: Click image to play Inspiration I thought about a proper idea for a long time and finaly got it when watching a baby-lobotomy video with my little daughter. The video was about teaching the children - which objects fly and which don't fly. I remember a game about this topic when I was a child. Someone picked an object, shouted it, and if it was a flying object, all of the other children had to put the index fingers in the air. If it was a non-flying object the children had to sit without moving. Who was too slow or didn't respond properly he had to leave the game and next round started immediately until just one child had left - the winner of course :) This made me to create a simple game. Rules are described below. Game mechanics So let's look at the game mechanics: There's a time limit of 10 seconds for a round Two shapes appear on the screen at once Only one shape represents an object that flies If player taps the correct e.g. flying object, he gets a point and a bonus time If player taps the wrong e.g. non flying object, he gets no point and gets and looses a small portion of precious time limit The faster the player decides, the more bonus time he can get and the better score he can achieve The more points, the more experience the player gets. Once he gets enough exp, he will proceed to the next (more difficult) level, where more shapes will appear (animals, insects, inductrial objects etc.) In advanced levels, the shapes will be rotated, so the player will have to cope with his mental rotation ability of his brain So let's sum up the features. Thank you Peace, Jeffrey Mironov" new york studio guitarist Born in New Haven,Connecticut, Ed moved to New York in 1978 to play guitar with Dizzy Gillespie from 1978 to 1992 performing in Gillespie's quartet, big band and with The United Nation Orchestra which recorded the Grammy Award-winning Live at Royal Festival Hall (Enja). Gillespie died in 1993, and Cherry released his first recording as a leader, 'First Take' (Groovin' High). That same year, Ed recorded with Paquito D'Riveras' small group and recorded "Havana Cafe" (Chesky Records). Ed also worked with composer/saxophonist Henry Threadgill for two years and recorded  three cds with Henry's 'Very Very Circus' group. In 1995, Cherry released his second project as a solo artist, entitled A Second Look (Groovin' High). During that same period Ed worked with Hammond organist John Patton recording three critically acclaimed cds with Patton's quartet-'Blue Planet Man','Minor Swing' and 'This ones for Jah'(DIW). From 1997 to 1998, Cherry worked in Roy Hargrove's “Crisol” Latin jazz band, which performed in Havana, Cuba. During this same period, he also worked w/baritone saxophonist, Hamiett Bluiett, recording  'With Eyes Wide Open' on Justin-Time records. In 2001, Cherry toured Europe for the first time with his own group. He also released his latest CD, The Spirit Speaks on the Canadian Justin Time label, inspired by the great jazz organist Jimmy Smith with whom he had also recently worked.Ed was asked to perform at the 'Vodaphone Madarao Jazz festival' in 2002 in Madarao Japan with his quartet featuring trumpeter Jon Faddis. In 2003 Ed performed with his quartet at Detroit Jazz Festival.  Right now,Ed is a member of vocalist Paula West quartet as well as leading his own trio. In addition to his stellar work as a sideman and as a critically acclaimed leader, Ed Cherry also has impressive credentials as a music educator. He taught guitar at Essex Community College in Newark, NJ from 1995 to 1996, and at the Henry Street Settlement in New York City from 1996 to 1997. He was also a faculty member at Montclair State University, School of Fine and Performing Arts for J.O.Y. His new release "Soul Tree" was just released to rave reviews.
