I have been passionate about the arts for as long as I can remember. I got my first 35mm camera while I was in the military. The excitement and thrill of making a good capture has never diminished. For the last ten years, or more, I have studied and grown with the digital age and my passion for photography has grown even stronger. I studied Art at the University of Delaware and have taken many classes in sketching and painting at the Delaware Art Museum. I have learned my photography skills through years of trial and error and from the association of many great photographers in the Delaware Photographic Society who were willing to share their wealth of knowledge and through attending seminars and photographic workshops. I think my love for the arts and training in engineering is a great mix for photography and I hope you enjoy my work. Thank you for visiting my website! My love for photography began as a child. I remember going to the National Museum of the Air Force when I was 9 or 10 years old. I spent every penny I had buying and shooting all the rolls of 110 film I could get my hands on. It took me weeks to save up enough to get them all developed (aahhh digital). I found the pictures again a few years ago. The pictures were nothing spectacular, but I'll never forget the rush I got taking them. Jump ahead to high school where I took my first photography class and learned about exposure, composure, and developing. After that I got away from serious photography until just a few years back. My father got a fancy new camera, a Nikon D90, and I had to have one too. I tried out a lot of lower grade equipment before learning the reasons why the pro grade stuff cost soooo much. There really is a huge difference in what you can do with it. But then I hit another wall. Even though my gear was good, I couldn't get all the shots I was trying for. My dad was having similar issues and we discovered a local photography school, Light Photographic Workshops. And the rest, as they say, is history. Not really, but I did learn how to fully use my camera and have continued to strive to be a better photographer ever since. I am fortunate to live in an area filled with great places to shoot, and to have friends and family that are so supportive of my work.

I have a degree in Business Administration emphasizing Marketing with a Minor in Fine Art from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, California. I am a self taught landscape and wildlife photographer continually refining my skills through in the field workshops and on-line tutorials and just getting out there and composing and capturing images and experimenting with processing techniques. Ancient structures, both man made and natural, amaze me. Grand, expansive landscapes enthrall me, especially at night with the vastness of the universe there before you. Wildlife of all kind engages me. Being able to capture images that convey the beauty and wonder of our world is both a privelege and a joy.
