Welcome to Allen R. McConnell's home page. Allen has a Ph. D. in Psychology from Indiana University, with a major concentration in social psychology and a minor concentration in cognitive science. His research interests include self-concept representation and its implications, pet ownership, stereotyping, prejudice, attitudes, implicit attitudes, nonconscious processes, and judgment and decision making. He has been on the faculty of Penn State, Michigan State, the University of Chicago, and is currently the James and Beth Lewis Professor of Psychology at Miami University. He also does considerable consulting as a legal trial consultant and as a consumer behavior consultant. In his spare time, Allen enjoys travel, photography, hiking, maintaining the Fort Scott Camps website, watching college basketball, and riding rollercoasters.
