Globally, struggles over wages and conditions no longer play a systemically integrated and integrative role within capitalist accumulation. Gone are the days of a ‘régime of accumulation’ based on a de facto class compact, or on the collective bargain between productive capital and dominant strata of the working class in the centres of accumulation, with real wage increases traded off against ‘productivity’ increases. Instead, struggles for the defence of the proletarian condition – for the proletariat to reproduce itself as proletariat – are ruled out of bounds or ‘illegitimate’ by capital.

The journal 2008-2012 was published once at the end of December 2012 as an individual project of understanding the recent past of the class struggle; on this basis it openly called for a theoretical discussion addressing those with whom it shared the sense that something from this past was indeed eluding our attention. The present site is the continuation of this previous attempt, which, in the meantime, through the encounter with comrades that raised closely related questions, had acquired the characteristics of a space of discussion, of a milieu if you prefer. As co-administrators from the beginning of 2014 until the beginning of 2015, and as the only administrators from the beginning of 2015 until today of the blog communisation.espivblogs. net (which will remain active, though its content will be no longer renewed), we insist on the creation of a space of discussion around the currency and the content of communism and revolution· and definitely the relation of the proletariat with all these. Central to the creation of this desirable milieu is the theory of communisation, with all its tendencies and extensions, which, to our knowledge, is among the very few that continue to raise questions of this kind today. Undoubtlessly, the present crisis, together with the forms of class struggle that accompany it, don’t leave any space for the reaffirmation of the workers’ identity and the horizon of another society envisioned by the workers’ movement. In our view, it still an open question what the actual characteristics of a theory of revolution would be, that would not circumvent the issues of gender and race internal to the capitalist social formation, that, in other words, would elaborate anew on the relation between the state and civil society.
