I really enjoyed the first two books of The Queen of the Tearling Trilogy and the way they married the feel of an epic fantasy novel with dystopian elements. I love Kelsea Raleigh--the way she's portrayed and her believable growth from altruistic young woman to someone who's willing to put aside their morals to do what needs to be done. There's a progressively dark feeling to these novels. I still love the setting. We remain in the world Johansen built, but its beginnings are fully fleshed out in The Fate of the Tearling. We get to see how their society used to be run and where everything went wrong. Seeing more of Mortmesne was particularly interesting. I have always enjoyed Johansen's ability to give you something you have a preconceived notion of and then tear it out from under you. She frequently makes you think of things in a new way, and the Mortmesne plot lines are a good example of that. I wasn't a fan of The Fate of the Tearling's storyline, however.. I liked where the story was heading when the second book ended but found myself frequently upset about how she navigated the plot in this book. I thought the Red Queen's redemption arc was completely off the wall. It felt so out of character for the villain we had come to know. I felt that they broke her, in a sense. She came off weak. I enjoyed learning more about Row. I liked that he was given a face and backstory, but the confrontation with him felt highly unsatisfying. I felt the narrative had difficulty carrying the multiple points of view from so many different characters. I found myself missing the rapport and witty banter between Kelsea and her guards. It took away a big part of what I enjoyed in previous books. I also felt there was too much of the dystopian element in this book. I liked getting answers and seeing a more complete history of the world, but I had such a hard time keeping track of everything that it was hard to enjoy the story. There were just too many varying points of view, and it made the narrative feel inconsistent. Another thing I disliked were the new developments in Kelsea and Pen's relationship. Although I don't require romance to enjoy a story, it's a big draw for me. I had liked where their relationship was heading, and the events of this book were frustrating with regards to them. The Fate of the Tearling left me wishing she had written a prequel instead, so I could have fully immersed myself in the characters and storylines I had come to love throughout the series. I detested the ending. It felt as though she took everything she had spent three entire books building and blew it all apart. I like that she had the courage to go in that direction but the narrative turn seemed weak. It felt like a cop out and I found myself a little confused, wondering what precisely had happened. I wish the series had ended with a little more hope. Perhaps that isn't realistic, but I don't really read fiction for realism. All in all, I did enjoy the book and it was largely well written. I just wish that the narrative had been more consistent, that more page time could have been dedicated to the storylines and characters of the present, and that the ending had been more satisfying.

Kenardo Forbes opened the scoring in the 32nd minute for the Rhinos. Raul Gonzalez would score both his first goal for Richmond and his first professional goal to give the Kickers a point on the road. The home side would try to get on the attack early in the first half calling Matt Turner into action in the 4th minute. Stefan Defregger collected the ball out wide and found an opening to slot the ball through to Mike Garzi making the run into the box. Garzi would take a shot quickly, without much power on it, as Turner would make the save. Richmond would try to put together an attack in the 17th minute. After winning the ball in the midfield, Alex Lee feeds the ball up the wing and finds Alhaji Kamara making the run towards the corner. Kamara sent his cross in looking for Luiz Fernando making the near post run as Tomas Gomez needed to come out to meet the cross and prevent any chance from Fernando. The Rhinos nearly took a lead just two minutes later. Gomez plays the ball down field and finds Bradley Kamden Fewo in the corner. Kamden Fewo would get to the end line and play the ball across goal to Garzi on the far side. He could not get a shot off and laid it off to Forbes at the top of the box for a shot on goal that Turner is able to block. The rebound falls to Defregger and he slots it in, but the offside flag goes up negating the goal. Kenardo Forbes broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute for the Rhinos. Darius Madison controlled the ball at the top of the box, unable to turn because of multiple Kickers defenders. Forbes makes a run towards the box and Shanosky is nearly able to prevent it, but Forbes gets enough on the ball to play it off a sliding Turner and then easily put away the rebound towards the far side of goal. Just before the halftime break, Raul Gonzalez would put away a free kick to draw the Kickers level in the 45th minute. Samuel Asante collected the ball in the midfield and started to make a run towards the Rochester box, as Ryan Felix stuck his leg out to try and make a stop and ended up drawing a foul on Asante. Raul Gonzalez stepped up to take the free kick. A previous free kick by Gonzalez was lofted in looking for a near post run. This time Gonzalez put power on his free kick and snuck it in the near post past Gomez for his first professional goal. Two minutes into the second half, Rochester looked to get back into the lead through Mike Garzi. Jordan Dover played the ball out wide to Brandon Beresford. Beresford played his cross in finding Garzi at the top of the box. Garzi took a touch and then tried a shot on the volley and it went high of Turner’s goal causing no threat. Gonzalez had another chance on goal from a free kick in the 60th minute. This time it was Gonzalez that was fouled by Forbes in nearly the same spot as the first half goal. Gonzalez stepped up looking to create the same magic as his shot ended in the hands of Gomez in goal. The Rhinos tried to create another dangerous opportunity in the 63rd minute. Kenardo Forbes once again was in on the attack and played the ball to Kamden Fewo looking to get the ball back. Kamden Fewo instead turned his shot on target as Turner was there with the save. Rochester’s most dangerous opportunity of the second half came in the 73rd minute. Only on the field for five minutes, Antonio Correia was able to put a shot on frame after getting a pass from Sofiane Tergou out wide. Turner would block the initial shot as the ball fell to Madison. He would have a chance on goal that Troyer was able to get in front of to clear away. The Kickers continue their three-match road trip as they head to Toronto FC II Wednesday with an early kickoff at 12PM. Welcome to our website! Vianney College came to birth in the same year, 1992, that Pope John Paul ll published his post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation, "Pastores dabo vobis". Thus this year, 2017, marks the 25th anniversary of our founding. Special celebrations are planned in August of this year to mark our Silver Jubilee and details can be found elsewhere on this website. Bishop Brennan founded Vianney College to form priests for the diocese of Wagga Wagga. He saw the advantages of training priests for a rural diocese in a rural setting. It was a bold move at the time and not without controversy. However time has proved the decision was a wise one and God has blessed the diocese of Wagga Wagga with a healthy flow of vocations to the priesthood. Bishop Gerard Hanna succeeded Bishop Brennan as bishop of Wagga Wagga in 2002 and retired, due to ill health in 2016. He will be remembered for his constant support and interest in Vianney College, enriching its programme of formation with the fruits of his own pastoral experience as a rural pastor and making provision for the future by sending priests of the diocese to do higher studies and thus providing a supply of qualified lecturers for the future. He also undertook a programme of upgrading and expanding the buildings of the seminary, and in doing so expanded our accommodation to over 30 students. While we await the appointment of a new bishop we look forward to the future with confidence. 25 Seminarians are currently enrolled in Vianney College, now not only for the Wagga diocese but for several other rural dioceses, for some Oriental Eparchies and for several religious orders. As in other Australian seminaries, a large proportion of our seminarians are of non-Australian birth but the formation at Vianney gives them an opportunity to understand the Australian culture (and accent) and to recognise the pastoral challenges they will face from an Australian point of view. Over our short 25 year history we have helped form 48 priests and two bishops. It is hoped that at least two more priests will be ordained this year. The Footwear industry in Indonesia grows along the line with the development of the Indonesian economy in general since the early seventies. It grow steadily year by year , but as a group of manufacturers they are still not a cohesive sector , and from scale perspective only a few are known nationally , only big name like the Bata shoe company that operates in Indonesia for decades. However since the early eighties the footwear industry in Indonesia grows rapidly with the influx of foreign investment which produced footwear for the foreign market. This development was also enhanced by the government’s business friendly policy and a stable economic and political condition. This development was also accelerated by the expansion of supporting industries , which resulted in more cost efficient production and a timely production time. This rapid development need a better management , and a new approach from policy makers was adopted . In the year 1988, the Ministry of Industry assembled shoe manufacturers from Jabotabek area , West Java , Central Java and encouraged the formation of the Indonesian Footwear Association or Asosiasi Persepatuan Indonesia known as APRISINDO . The shoe manufacturers and the Ministry of Industry envisioned this organization as vehicle to maintain the development of the shoe industry in all its aspect. The growth of shoe industry in that period was mainly dominated by factories producing brand names like Nike , Adidas , Reebok and others for export . The growth of shoe manufacturing was reflected in the steadily increasing annual export value and footwear is one of the ten main commodities exported from Indonesia and footwear export is one of the main contributor to Indonesian foreign exchange earnings. At the pinnacle of its growth in 1996 , the footwear industry employed 850.000 direct and supporting workers . At he time the export value reached its height of US$ 2,2 billion. However against this bright atmosphere a dark cloud of a financial typhoon is looming and fast approaching . The financial crisis of 1997 struck mercilessly on the economy and especially the banking sector . A multitude of problems plagued the Indonesian economy and with it came the political turmoil and instability in economic and social condition . The shoe industry also engulfed in the crises and had to face a host of problem , all the mainstays for the survival of a shoe industry are in disarray Supporting industries relocate their operations abroad to a more conducive environment. This made production more costly and timing of supply of raw material critical. Banking industry in a chaotic condition and cannot support the shoe industry , to overcame this problem the government seek to make an agreement in Export Financing with the Japanese Government and the USA , however due to unexpected events these scheme did not materialize. During all these uncertain times APRISINDO did its best to support its member to survive the storm . Starting 2000 the storm abated and a revival of the shoe industry is in sight . Another aspect came into view in the euphoria following the fall of the old regime and political liberalization a host of labor unions sprung up with their own political agenda and view of labor and human rights. New Labor law the famous Law No. 13 /2003 was enacted , which add another obstacle due to the costly termination pay. As the footwear industry steadily inching forward , APRISINDO broaden its role in supporting the whole spectrum of the footwear industry The future of the organization , in addition to the prevailing role the organization is developing its focus on a broader issue : • Maintaining growing existence of the shoe industry and enhancing its ability to compete in the global market. • Encouraging the development of non sport and SME footwear industry . • Reinforcing the consolidation of footwear supporting industries . The role of the association is steadily gaining recognition by all stake holders in the footwear industry , as reflected in the involvement of the association in footwear matters.
