THE SUMMIT FILM: OFFICIAL WEBSITEhttp://site-overview.com/stats/thesummitfilm.com
The Summit film is a feature length documentary that examines the most basic aspects of human nature placed at the mercy of Mother nature. In August, 2008, 18 mountain climbers reached the top of K2. 48 hours later, 11 people were dead. While memorials paid tribute to those killed, there were also condemnations about ‘the why.’ Why do these athletes risk everything to reach a place humans are simply not meant to go? The body is literally dying each second above 8000 meters. K2 has been conquered before, half a century ago, so this expedition was not ‘a first’ of any kind. Had it been successful, the world would have hardly noticed. But in the aftermath of tragedy there was a media feeding frenzy that created celebrities and untold wealth for some of those who did survive. The Summit Film is about the very nature of adventure in the Modern World.
